One bite of the tofu chipotle burger at his latest venture capital investment and Rueger Marshall is hooked. But not on the food. He has eyes for the sweet and clumsy waitress with the twenty-six sloth buttons on her apron. If he has his way, she’s about to find out just what it means to be his babygirl. And, what it means to follow the rules.
Lexi Chase has three misdemeanors and a new probation mentor she’s supposed to meet. Her job at the vegan deli doesn’t offer much excitement, until the day the man with the lumberjack beard and the handmaid suit sits in her section and teaches her about destiny.
Can Rueger ever come to grips with the fantasies of Lexi wide-eyed, looking up at him with the name ‘Daddy’ on her lips? Or will questions of hidden agendas and a stack of incriminating photos end their fairytale before it can start?
Author’s Note: Grab your candy heart panties and an ice pack, because these two are about to teach you just how hot a list of rules can be. Sit back, wiggle your toes and settle in for a decadent, dirty ride with a to-die-for Daddy Dom and his one-and-only baby girl. As always, this is a happily ever after safe read with unrelated adults finding their happy place with a bit of DD/baby girl fun. Enjoy.
I really liked this story. Not because it's insta-everything and over-the-top-everything, but because there are actual rules! Written down, read out loud, clear as crystal rules. Twenty of them.
Twenty. Of. Them.
Rueger's innate desire to care for Lexi like a Daddy should is front and center in this book. He watches over her to the point of being a stalker. Not like a stalker; he is a stalker. Lexi accuses of him being one when he explains how far he's gone to make sure she's cared for, that her needs are met. For a woman who's lost so much and is so eager to do for others, she clings to this instead of running in the opposite direction. (Not that running would have helped. Rueger would've run her to earth and enjoyed every minute of the chase.) Not only does she welcome his caring of and for her, she accepts it.
The rules were a surprise. I wasn't expecting an actual list. I thought Rueger would tell Lexi what they were, sit her down and say them so there was no misunderstanding what their relationship was all about. But I liked that he had her read them, a verbal acceptance of what they were entering into, what their lives would be like from that moment on.
The beauty of this DD/lg relationship (the declaration and acceptance) shines through the fast pace, the heat, and the sex. Sometimes a story isn't just about how dirty it can be. Sometimes the beautiful simplicity of the relationship is what makes the story, the story.
Dani Wyatt used to feel bad about having such dirty thoughts. Luckily, one day she decided to starting writing them down. Her uber alpha heros have a wicked possessive streak and an insatiable libido. Her heroines are intelligent, quirky and worry about having too much muffin top. With her books, you can count on a heaping helping of HOT and always a happily ever after.
When she’s not writing (which is not often) she is probably laughing about some irony (like A-1 Steak Sauce is vegan), riding her horse, wondering why The Walking Dead can’t have a new episode every night, or looking cross-eyed at some piece of technology sent to ruin her day.
